This is a utility that lets you CSV formatted TXT files into DB2 databases.
TxtToDB2 is a program that lets you import CSV formatted txt files. The data could be imported easily into the database automatically. This should be very useful for loading large amounts of data. Import of all data files in one folder is possible. A wizard takes you through the steps to makes things easier for you. Data types CLOB and BLOB are supported. As the tool supports Unicode, you are able to handle multi-byte language based data. That includes many of the Asia-pacific languages. You could run SQL commands and check the results. After the set ups are tested and the import schemes are working, if the transfers are done on a regular basis, you could resort to command line and use the scheduling features. That has a direct impact on your productivity.
The interface is simple enough. It does not look very appealing though. You need to set up the source file details, define the destination table, select specific fields in a row of the table and then finally load data related settings. Operating indicators are arranged in tabs. First tab is result preview, which confirms if the set ups are producing the right results. Result preview tells you exactly what is imported. Next tab is load. This tab has a progress bar, beside the analog progress it also shows number of records transferred, time taken and percentage of transfer completed. The third tab gives you the log of the session, particularly details of any faulty transfers. Session parameters set in the beginning part lets you save them and then run future sessions easily. This is a good tool for a very specific functionality.
